In 1993 we were the second regional chapter (Michigan is the first) chartered under the Michigan Antique Phonograph Society. We are known as the "Wisconsin Cheeseheads" and have a properly adorned Nipper as our logo. Our Wisconsin organization is a group of dedicated collectors of phonographs, records, and anything related to the area of vintage phonographs and music. We meet four times per year for the purpose of extending our knowledge, learning from others by sharing collections and generally have a good time.
Our membership numbers about 60 with members in several states. Twelve to twenty members regularly attend our local functions. These get-togethers include meeting at a collector's home, attending a local music or jazz festivals, an informative dinner meeting, or meeting for a holiday or theme event. Occasionally our meetings are hi-lighted by a silent auction or an informative presentation by a member.
Our family dues are $14.00 for a two year membership. We enjoy fellowship of people who collect and share phonograph and music collecting. A 12 page newsletter is published four times a year. Our chapter helps promote regional events, such as the Bunny Berigan Jazz Festival in Fox Lake, WI, and individual community events including school and museum presentations.
